John Skiba truly is the Consumer Warrior. I was hit with a junk debt buyer lawsuit. There were several things wrong with what the debt buyer was doing but I wasn’t sure if anything could be done about it but settle for the thousands they wanted. My wife and I were sued by a third-party debt collection company, one of the largest in the debt-buying business. Ironically, however, the collection company had bought a debt that we did not owe — it was related to an old credit card that belonged solely to my wife’s former (deceased) husband, and his estate had been settled many years ago. The court case wasn’t even filed in my last name. After we stopped laughing, we got hold of Mr. Skiba because of his reputation and his prior experience dealing with this company.
